WITH MELO-X, MNTN & GETOVERHER THIS SPRING IN U.S.
First Headlining Tour in Support of his Debut Album on Feel Up
New York City, the hometown of R&B singer BOYSLASHFRIEND, shaped the throughline of endearing infatuation on his 2015 debut album Low Key (Feel Up Records). The town’s thick-skinned reputation is a badge of honor worn by a native like BOYSLASHFRIEND, yet underneath it all, he vibrates a universal feeling of vulnerability. That heartfelt message will be delivered this spring when BOYSLASHFRIEND goes coast-to-coast headlining A Low Key Tourfeaturing support from MeLo-X, MNTN & GETOVERHER.
Leaving New York was a possibility for BOYSLASHFRIEND when he wished for a sunny oasis on “Maiden Lane and Broadway,” a ballad that put his relationship with NYC in perspective. Fast-forward, a year later, BOYSLASHFRIEND packs his things for a prosperous musical journey. BOYSLASHFRIEND’s first leg of the tour in MIA, ATL and LA presents a more geographically comfortable surrounding with their reputation for good weather and women—stimuli for the R&B singer’s pillow talk. In April, he heads back to familiar territories of Chi-town’s urban sprawl, then wraps up with a New York homecoming.
Throughout the tour, the singer/songwriter will release a visual for Low Key’s title track in addition to new remixes. The end product will be the full-length compilation, Low Key: The Remixes, slated for late spring, featuring production by Canblaster, Mighty Mark & TT The Artist, Sega Bodega, and more.
BOYSLASHFRIEND is flanked by his closest friends and collaborators on A Low Key Tour. MeLo-X, MNTN & GETOVERHER, who earned co-production and songwriting credits on Low Key will showcase their individual talents on their promotional venture. GETOVERHER, featured on “UP2U,” is a baritone singer/rapper from the Southside of Jamaica Queens, New York. His edgy detour from BOYSLASHFRIEND left no stone unturned in his recital of his perfect dating profile. MNTN, the multi-faceted instrumentalist has played keyboard, guitar, and flexed beatmaking chops on the majority of BOYSLASHFRIEND’s studio recordings and remixes. MeLo-X, has been one of the go-to producers to put his spin on BOYSLASHFRIEND’s catalogue. “About Love (MeLo-X Godmix),” a BOYSLASHFRIEND throwback and “Slow Dance,” are deep cuts crafted by MeLo-X.
